Business Development Manager | London| Life Science / Pharmaceuticals | £50-55k

I am recruiting for a Business Development Manager, with a global leading organisation, operating across over 800 laboratories in 50 countries with over 48,000 staff. They have a revenue of over €5.4 billion, with a growth of over 19.2% in 2020.

They are a world leader within pharmaceutical, forensic, clinical diagnostics, food and environmental laboratory testing services, and have been pivitol drawing on their scientific experience to develop a range of SARS-Cov-2 tests in response to the Coronavirus Pandemic.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced customer focused Business Development Manager to be based in the South of England,  to help develop the support of their continued growth for their COVID-19 customer base, ranging from Governments, Local Authorities, Aviation Sector to industrial, media, events and sports clients.

This organisation have developped a programme which is designed to help companies set up advanced risk management protocols and contributes to limiting the impact of COVID-19 in the workplace. The programme combines workplace surfaces and wastewater testing together with risk-based clinical testing, as well as the relevant consultative, auditing and assurance services to assess and focus on areas where the virus presence is likely. This approach reduces the cost and supports our health authorities to allocate capacity constrained human COVID-19 testing where it is the most needed.


This position will help develop and manage customers, as well as insuring a planned approach to customer relationship management, building new proactive pipelines of work and exceed targets in line with annual business plans, with significant onward internal development opportunities.



  • Undergraduate degree preferably in the area of Business Administration, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Life Sciences


  • Minimum 5 to 10 years of commercial experience in the service industry
  • Business development or direct sales experience is essential
  • Track record of engaging with corporate organisations is advantageous
  • Experience in healthcare, sales to government / local authorities would be beneficial
  • Self-starter and self-motivation
  • Market knowledge in Bio / Pharma industry is not mandatory, but will be useful

Language / IT

  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Microsoft Office applications
  • CRM systems

  • Development of sales and business strategies, as well as success in execution
