Job Purpose:

The Field Applications Engineer position will provide technical support to the Sales region they are assigned. FAE's will work closely with the Sales organization to identify and drive NBO closure. In addition, this position will support existing business; develop technical competence and support Product Portfolio Strategy Development.

Key Result Areas:

  • Interface between customers, Specialist Components Engineering departments, and PLD to facilitate designs and technical issues.
  • Calls on OEM accounts and distributors.
  • Training of Distributor field sales
  • Technical presentations at customers, distributors, and conferences.
  • Act as field design engineer where appropriate and qualified.
  • Provide sales back-up for Regional Sales Managers.
  • Provide technical/commercial assistance for NBO's to include pre and post awarded and assurance of data integrity in SalesForce.com
  • Investigate and provide new product ideas and information.
  • Ensure continued self-education on applications, technologies, products, markets, and competition.
  • Reports and presentations on applications, products, markets, and competition.

Position Qualifications (Education and/or Skills and Experience):

  • Degree in Engineering Mechanical/electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of three years of technical field or inside technical sales support or engineering design with significant customer support
  • Ability to travel within the regional up to 40% of the time as required to support customers and business growth
  • Experience working with OEMs and distributors, with demonstrated team building and problem solving skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities to achieve set goals, with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and work across organizational and cultural boundaries to drive new initiatives and implement organization common standards and processes.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills required
