Location: Flexible - UK wide responsibilities


Salary: c£70,000 - £80,000 basic, bonus, pension, healthcare, car or allowance.


Head of Haulage


My client is a market leader with a national transport and haulage fleet.


A requirement has been made to recruit a first-class Head of Haulage to oversee a successful legally compliant transport structure, providing vehicles and drivers to support the needs of the business.


The role has a national remit, overseeing regional transport teams and reports into the main board. The role has the core objective of making available a legal and compliant transport structure that provides vehicles and drivers as required. In addition, there is a requirement to build strong relationships with 3rd Party Transport providers, which will provide support when all internal resources are utilised.


The role handles its own budget and has an expectation to maintain and develop the companies FORS, and other related accreditations.


Candidate Requirements:


  • Proven track record of leading a business services haulage and transport function within an operational environment with multi-site operations.
  • CPC Licence holder
  • Experience of managing internal relationships at different levels from driver to board level.
  • Ideally experience of managing personnel both directly and via a matrix style management structure.
  • Ability to think strategically, execute effectively, and maintain high levels of energy and commitment.
