Key Areas of Responsibility:
As Head of the Property Management development you will be in charge of a team of 15 persons mainly based in London (a few additional members will also be based in Ireland and Sweden).
You will be responsible for the development, architecture and maintenance of the Property Management products.
You will supervise the full development lifecycle from technical specification, development, testing, release, technical documentation and training up to support escalation from support teams. You ensure agile and smooth execution, enforce development best practices, quality of deliveries and continuously look for improvement for efficiency.
You will work closely with the product managers to align deliveries with products requirements and specifications, to plan and prioritize deliveries according to company strategy.
You will adjust the team daily activities and priorities according to time to market and support operation need to ensure clients satisfaction.
You will report on roadmap progress, alert on deviation and propose updated plan.
You will report directly to the CTO and you will collaborate actively with the other heads of departments for cross-teams developments organisation.
You will adapt to company priority and strategy changes and adjust the roadmap, priorities and team plan accordingly.
Main job tasks:
Management and organisation of the team and look after team members carrier path
Definition and management of the team budget.
Reporting to management.
Develop roadmap definition and planning.
Control development lifecycle ensuring optimised development flow and integrated platforms across the different development teams.
Develop solutions, additional features and interfaces on PMS products and services.
Project management: scoping, time and costs estimation and management, planning, priority, delivers quality, follow-up and report on progress.
Coordinate and provide escalation support to company operational teams.
Managing the collaborations with other departments and teams/ cross team product development.
Support Sales process and RFP/RFQ/RFI with technical feedback, answers, and cost estimation
University degree or equivalent
Essential experience required:
10 years managing development teams of 10+ persons in a technology environment
Experience in operations is a plus
5+-years software development experience
Experience working with PMS (Property Management Software) would be advantageous
Technical / job-related skills:
Software and web service architecture/design, agile methodologies, versioning, packaging, quality control and development with standard programming languages (C#, C/objective C, Java, Php, also ".net" framework, Delfi or SQL DB)
Windows platforms (Linux skills is a plus)
Software development lifecycle and methodology
Competencies / Specific personal & job-related demands:
Fluent in English speaking and writing. Other additional languages would be a plus.
Naturally a team leader, team worker and team motivator.
Good communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of the company as well as with partners and possibly clients.
Knowledgeable in technology possibly including & beyond Hospitality Industry technology knowledge (Open Source technologies)
